What’s next in Whiskrs
Version 1.1.0 expands your personal workspace. It is being prepared for Chrome review. The install button currently opens the published 1.0.0 listing.
Coming in 1.1.0
- Native Chrome update-ready notices, a manual update check and an explicit apply action after saving open edits.
- A hideable Our projects / Sponsors area below open tabs. This build links to Whiskrs guides and sponsorship enquiries, without ad networks, tracking or a paid campaign.
- Your Space: a customizable profile dashboard, social links, developer tools, quick capture and pinned references.
- Quick Files with folders, tags and favorites; local PDF and image storage, PDF search and saved reading position.
- Snippets, project desks and focus sessions.
- Read later, article states, reminders and highlights; an optional floating saver on individual sites you enable.
- Optional history search and a separately enabled local archive with exclusions and retention controls.
- Recently closed sessions and opt-in scheduled browser snapshots.
- A separate encrypted credential vault with recovery keys and optional device-verified passkeys when PRF is supported.
- Encrypted library files and manual read/write of an encrypted backup in a chosen folder. Transfer the file yourself or use your own folder transport; no server is supplied.
- Optional access choices after installation, followed by a hands-on tutorial with tab dragging, session saving, reopening and reduced-motion-aware confetti.
The vault does not read your computer password or biometric data, autofill websites, or sync automatically. Vault data, history archives and browser snapshots are separate from library backups. GitHub sign-in remains unavailable in this build.

Included with care
First-install onboarding, the supplied Whiskrs cat, local sprite animations and reduced-motion support. Core library workflows require no account or hosted service.
Current limits
- Install from the official Chrome Web Store listing.
- Public repository activity works without OAuth. Private repositories and GitHub Enterprise are not supported.
- GitHub sign-in requires publisher registration/configuration and is disabled.
- Automatic AI usage needs a separately started local companion. Antigravity’s adapter needs a live compatibility check.
- Internet public pages require your own configured HTTPS sharing server. There is no preconfigured hosting or cloud sync.
